The Combined Emergency Medical Technician course follows the US DoT EMT and AAOS syllabus through the Jones and Bartlett interactive learning materials and challenges the learner from the outset: providing an in depth curriculum backed up with realistic scenario based exercises, multi agency practical exercises and real world patient contact.

The course culminates in a clinical attachment where delegates will work as part of a front line ambulance crew to consolidate their skills and ensure competency and confidence in a truly challenging environment.   

This hybrid course includes additional modules to afford a well rounded curriculum and experience for EMTs wishing to work in challenging industrial and remote settings.

This 18 day course is ideal for the following professions and activities:

  • Ambulance EMT (AREMT accepted internationally by various states and private companies) 

Throughout the course each theory module is backed up by practical workshops and scenarios which medics are likely to encounter on operations, such as; cardiac arrest, road traffic collisions, building collapse & subsequent crush injuries, gunshot and blast wounds along with dehydration, breathing difficulties, low blood sugar and fractures.

Successful completion of the course culminates in the award of the following baseline qualifications:

  • Australasian Registry of Emergency Medical technicians – Emergency Medical Technician
  • National Association for Search & Rescue (NASAR) - Wilderness EMT Upgrade (WEMT)
  • Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI) Basic Life Support (CPR/AED) for Healthcare Professionals
  • National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)

**Additional Qualifications Available (including additional certification fee):

  • NAEMT - Prehopsital trauma Life Support (PHTLS) (2 days)
  • NAEMT - Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) or Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) (2 days)
  • Rescue, Expedition & Disaster Medicine (RED MED) (50 hours online)

In order to receive the NAEMT manual and certification, an additional fee of $230 is charged per certification.

EMT/WEMT students will receive a 50% discount on the Online RED MED course fee and a 5% discount on the on-site course fees.
